Oil Extraction
Oil is extracted from cooked cottonseed kernels using an expeller or solvent extraction.
The remaining solid residue is cottonseed cake.
Cooling and Grinding
The cottonseed cake is cooled and, if required, ground into a uniform meal.
Packaging and Storage
The cake/meal is packed in bags and stored for use as animal feed or as an organic fertilizer.
